Having worked hard and spent sleepless nights studying, the learners of the Class of 2021 were finally rewarded on January 19 as they collected their IEB matric results.
In spite of having had a very difficult two years due to Covid-19 and having to study online periodically, Christ Church Preparatory School and College in Noordwyk was again very proud of its matric class and the outstanding results they achieved.

The school’s top learner was Chantè Bresler who achieved seven distinctions and was in the top 1% of IEB candidates in three subjects and the top 5% in five of her subjects. She received a commendation from the IEB.
Chantè was accompanied by her mother, Cilla to collect her results and she was joyful to see her daughter topping the charts at the school.

Chantè was deputy head girl for the school and said she was going to study medicine this year.
“Hard work pays off,” she said. “I had a very supportive environment with my friends and my teachers which is one of the things I will miss at the school.”

Fellow learners Liam Hildebrand, Kristen Peters and Cassandra Yule each attained five distinctions each, while Calem Chetty, Ofentse Molokoane and Amber Smith achieved four each.
The school’s life orientation department accounted for 15 distinctions and the mathematics department 13, while 67% of dramatic arts learners achieved distinctions.

According to David Bell, the school’s principal, 93% of the matriculants attained university entrance passes.

“We congratulate our matric Class of 2021, their parents, and their teachers and wish every one of these learners God’s richest blessings as they move into the next chapter of their lives,” concluded Bell.
