Strike from Tshenye fires Neasm to victory
Neasm look to maintaining their winning streak after back-to-back league victories.
Neasm Academy had an outstanding weekend in the Joburg Men’s Regional League encounters on February 17 and 18.
They dominated their opponents and won both matches with ease. On the first day, they defeated Alex Black Poison with a score of 3-1 at the Alexandra Stadium, and the next day, they clinched a 4-1 win against rock-bottom Amajananda at Rabie Ridge Stadium.

Under the leadership of Hezekiel Aphane, Neasm Academy has been performing exceptionally well.
Their recent victories put them in position 11 with 23 points after 16 games. They scored a total of seven goals over the weekend, which helped them close the goal difference to minus five as they look to get into the top 10.
Neasm Academy started their encounter against Alex Black Poison strongly and scored an early goal just after two minutes, thanks to Thabiso Tshenye.

They continued to dominate the game and created several opportunities but failed to convert them into goals.
Meanwhile, Thokozani ‘TKay’ Ngubeni and Katlego Molekwa had their shots blocked by the Black Poison keeper, Karabo Mashiya, in quick succession following a cut-back from Bethel Makombe.
Bethen Makombe thought he had doubled the lead when his diving header was palmed by Mashiya at the goal line.

As the match progressed, Black Poison started to gain momentum and created some chances of their own.
Eventually, their efforts paid off when Neasm defender Paballo Mosenye made a handball inside the box after attempting to make a tackle on a Black Poison attacker.
Sihle Shange stepped up and calmly converted from the spot to give Black Poison an equaliser.

Despite Black Poison creating some chances of their own, Neasm Academy managed to restore their lead three minutes before the end of the first half with Karabo Ramoshaba’s thunder strike from the edge of the box.
In the second stint, Neasm Academy returned rejuvenated after a halftime pep talk from the coaches.
They continued to dominate the game and were rewarded when Ramoshaba completed his brace with another grass cutter rocket from far in the pool of Black Poison defenders that saw Mashiya fail to get a clean grip.
Neasm Academy’s next league encounter is against Varsity College on February 24 at Rabie Ridge Stadium where they will look to continue their winning streak.
