Midrand United remains undefeated in their last three league encounters

Both Bootlesses FC and Kaalfonia FC are breathing down their necks in the league table, and United cannot afford to be complacent.

Midrand United FC failed to maintain their lead twice and drew 2–2 with Indlovu FC during the Midrand Premier League encounter, held at Rabie Ridge Stadium on March 17.

Despite their best efforts, United could not deliver as expected against Indlovu, and the last-minute equaliser during the last three minutes of the game came as a shock to them.

United, who had won their previous match against Total Football Excellence in the Midrand derby, were determined to continue their winning streak.

Although they wasted opportunities against Total Football and failed to shake the net as many times as they had targeted, that was not the case against Indlovu.

United managed to put two past Indlovu, however, they also left themselves open at the back, “Which means we have more work to do in fixing our mistakes before our next encounter,” according to their coach Morgan Moodley.

Moodley expressed his disappointment with the slow start of his players against Indlovu. He expected them to be more competitive and fast-flowing, but they only switched on in the second half.

“I was very disappointed with the slow start of Midrand United players,” said Moodley. “My boys only switched on in the second half. The performance was not the best against a team that is in mid-table, and we took them lightly. However, my club is not out of the league run, and we will fight right till the end in a new LFA,” Moodley explained.

United’s first season in the Midrand Premier League has been a success, with the team currently fighting for the still-on-the-table league for any team to grab.

Morgan’s boys continued to remain undefeated in three consecutive games after also whipping FC Super 7 by 2-1 on March 23.

Morgan concluded that although it’s their first season in the Midrand league, he still wants the first position as he wants his boys to reach the regional league next season.
