Midrand SPCA inspectors hit the street for proactive outreaches.

Midrand SPCA inspectors have been out and about hitting the streets for proactive door-to-door inspections to check the well-being of animals in the area.

But it hasn’t been an easy task. In the Kanana informal settlement, the roads are either damaged or virtually non-existent.

Despite these obstacles, the inspectors were warmly welcomed by residents, who eagerly showed them their furry friends for inspection.

During their visit, the team issued some warnings and they will be conducting follow-ups to ensure that the necessary improvements have been made.

Moreover, while carrying out these inspections and complaints, SPCA inspectors Jerry Seemise, Theo Mokgatle, and general manager Pam Pretorius, also took the opportunity to stop over and check on some of the hawking sites that were issued with warnings and lessons before.

They were pleased to see how welfare conditions had improved, and these sentient animals were provided with adequate shelter and water.

Inspector Pretorius expressed her delight at the success of their educational drives at these sites as all the chickens had shelter and water.

She also extended her heartfelt appreciation to the inspectors for their perseverance and dedication towards ending animal cruelty.
