Curro Academy Clayville bags five out of eight accolades at the Inter-Curro Football Tournament

Bringing home several trophies, the learners’ remarkable skills ignited a wave of pride and celebration throughout the entire school community.

Curro Academy Clayville’s boys and girls soccer teams participated in the Inter-Curro Football Tournament hosted by Curro Academy Parkdene on October 19.
The tournament also featured Curro Academy Riverside.
The learners returned with several trophies, highlighting their skills and dedication, which sparked excitement throughout the school community.
Clayville secured five of the eight available trophies, generating immense pride among staff and learners.

Notably, the U13 boys team earned gold after a strong 3–1 victory against Riverside. The U12 boys team fought hard but received silver after a narrow 1–2 loss to Riverside. The U11 boys also achieved gold, winning 4–2 against Parkdene while the U10 boys took silver after a 0–2 defeat to Parkdene.

The U13, U12, and U10 Clayville girls’ teams each secured gold medals, showcasing their talent and determination.

The U13 girls won an exciting match 3–2 against Parkdene while the U12 girls achieved a 2–0 victory against the same opponents. The U10 girls excelled with a decisive 4–1 win against Riverside. The U11 girls faced a setback, earning a bronze medal after a challenging 0–2 loss to Riverside.

The tournament was further elevated by the presence of football legend Pitso John Hamilton Mosimane, currently managing Esteghlal.

Mosimane has partnered with Curro Holdings to establish the Pitso Mosimane Soccer Schools, integrating football training into the school curriculum. This initiative aims to nurture young football talent in South Africa, beginning with pilot programmes in Gauteng and Limpopo.
