Arts On The Move wraps up a year of creativity and community in Noordwyk

Looking ahead to 2026, Arts On The Move plans to expand its classes, introduce specialised art modules, and host annual exhibitions to showcase learners’ achievements.

Midrand’s vibrant arts scene received a boost this year thanks to Arts On The Move, a local initiative that has provided children, teenagers, and adults from Noordwyk and surrounding areas with a safe and inspiring space to explore their creativity.

Throughout 2025, the organisation’s Saturday Art Classes nurtured talent, built confidence, and encouraged self-expression through drawing, painting, and a variety of visual arts techniques.

According to founder Meshack Mashathi, the workshops, exhibitions, and art fairs offered more than skill-building—they fostered a sense of pride and belonging among learners.
“This year, our Art Without Limits initiative helped improve access to quality visual arts education,” said Mashathi.

“Our learners produced outstanding artworks, participated in school competitions, and discovered new passions and abilities they never knew they had. Parents and community members joined us for several creative outreach events, making 2025 one of our most memorable and impactful years.”

Looking ahead, Arts On The Move has ambitious plans for 2026. These include introducing specialised modules such as mixed media, pastel techniques, and portrait mastery; expanding Saturday classes to accommodate more learners from ages five through adults; and hosting annual exhibitions to showcase their achievements.

The organisation also aims to strengthen partnerships with schools, businesses, and community leaders, while bringing in professional artists for guest workshops and launching community art outreach programmes across Midrand.

“Our long-term vision is to build a strong arts culture in the community—one that encourages creativity, confidence, and even opens doors to future careers,” said Mashathi.

As 2025 draws to a close, Mashathi extended heartfelt thanks to the Noordwyk community. “Your encouragement, participation, and belief in our mission continue to motivate us. Every parent, learner, neighbour, donor, and volunteer has played an important role in making Arts On The Move a growing success.”

He concluded with festive greetings: “We wish the entire community a Merry Christmas and a blessed New Year. May this festive season bring peace, joy, and rest to every household. We look forward to welcoming you back in 2026 for another year of creativity, learning, and artistic growth.”
