NGO Open Day helps The IIE’s Varsity College Waterfall students to give back

The IIE's Varsity College Waterfall NGO Open Day showcased a range of NGOs dedicated to enhancing the lives of individuals in need, fostering a spirit of giving and social responsibility among students.

The tireless efforts of non-governmental organisations (NGOs) in Midrand were recently spotlighted during a NGO Open Day, hosted by The IIE’s Varsity College Waterfall’s VC Cares.

This event aimed to celebrate the important work of various organisations while empowering students with knowledge and opportunities to engage in community upliftment.

Nqubeko Mavimbela, a third-year Bachelor of Laws student and chairperson of VC Cares, expressed that the open day was a significant success. “It was informative and gave me a sense of fulfillment, especially because I was able to sign up for the SAPS Youth programme, which involves the youth in crime prevention within communities.

“I love doing work that benefits others, which is why I am part of VC Cares. I learned that being involved or volunteering with these NGOs takes nothing away from you, so, if you can, why not lend a hand?”
