Midrand charity buys winter clothes and shoes for children

Time to Care charity organisation director Huseyin Kublay said seeing smiles on people's faces motivates them to reach even more communities.

Time to Care (TTC) charity organisation purchased winter clothes and shoes for 37 young children from Kaalfontein, Midrand.

This heart-touching initiative took place at Ackermans in Boulders Shopping Centre on May 28.

TTC director Huseyin Kublay said charity volunteers helped the children choose the best fitting shoes. “When we were done purchasing, we took them out for lunch at McDonalds. Every day, we witness thousands of people in difficult situations. Our mission is to be there, on time, to help them. Currently, we are distributing food hampers across multiple locations in Gauteng.”

He said this is the third group they have assisted since they started this winter project. The first group was from Ivory Park, where 23 kids went back home with shining eyes. The second group was from Tembisa, where 31 learners filled their wardrobes with hopes.

Kublay said TTC remains actively engaged in organising food hamper distributions, and is calling for more volunteers to assist with packing, loading, and distribution. “Regardless of race, religion, culture, or background, we will continue to support those in need. Seeing the smiles on people’s faces motivates us to reach even more communities.”

TTC is committed to its mission, with ongoing food and meat distributions planned throughout the year to support vulnerable communities across South Africa.

Kublay said the non-profit charity organisation will continue to make a significant impact across South Africa, reaching communities from Ivory Park, to Soweto, Kaalfontein, to Diep Kloof, and from Durban, to Cape Town. “TTC provides essential support to those in need, with a mission rooted in fostering a culture of unconditional care. In the past four months, we held a successful stationery drive, distributing 100 packs to learners in Kaalfontein, Ivory Park, Midrand, and Pretoria.”

The organisation also conducts skills development programmes, offering biweekly baking and sewing classes in Midrand, and weekly classes in Daveyton, to equip participants with valuable skills.
