Mayibuye beauty queen eyes bigger 2026

From hosting her second pageant to partnering with a children’s home, Lusanda Mapundo’s 2025 has been one of impact.

Mayibuye-based model and pageant founder Lusanda Mapundo (21) is wrapping up 2025 with a heart full of gratitude and pride after what she describes as one of her most rewarding years yet, both on and off the runway.

As the founder of the Miss Face of Beauty Tembisa pageant, Mapundo has grown, not only as a model, but also as a young community leader, passionate about empowering women through pageantry and mentorship.

One of her biggest highlights came late last year when she successfully hosted the second annual Miss Face of Beauty Tembisa, a milestone she proudly achieved without any external sponsorship.

“This achievement is even more meaningful as it opened the door for me to partner with New Jerusalem Children’s Home as a sponsor. It showed me how far passion and perseverance can take you.”

As she prepares for the third edition of the pageant this year, Mapundo is focused on building on the event’s momentum and hopes to attract sponsorships to elevate it even further.

She expressed heartfelt appreciation to the local models, their families, and the broader community for their continuous support.

“Their dedication and commitment to the pageant have been truly inspiring. I’m thankful to everyone who believed in the vision and helped make it a success.”
