Boulders Shopping Centre brings back-to-school smiles to local children

Boulders Shopping Centre’s initiative, in partnership with Tshwaranang OVC, gave children fresh haircuts, grocery packs, and a warm lunch to kick off the school year with pride.

Boulders Shopping Centre recently hosted a heartfelt community initiative in partnership with Tshwaranang OVC, aimed at preparing disadvantaged children for their first day of school with confidence, dignity, and pride.

As part of the initiative, children from Tshwaranang OVC were treated to fresh cornrows and haircuts, ensuring they looked and felt their best ahead of the new school term, which began on January 14.

The experience was designed not only to prepare the children practically but also to uplift their spirits and remind them that they are valued.

The day was made even more special with a warm lunch kindly sponsored by Chicken Licken at the shopping centre, allowing the children to enjoy a shared meal in a welcoming environment. In addition, the shopping centre’s Boxer generously donated grocery packs to support the children and their families as they begin the school year.

Through meaningful partnerships and hands-on involvement, the centre continues to demonstrate that it cares deeply about the people it serves. “Our goal is to remind the community that The Boulders is more than just a shopping destination.

We want every child to feel special, to know they matter, and to step into their future with confidence.”

Looking ahead to 2026, Boulders Shopping Centre remains committed to rolling out community initiatives that foster unity, compassion, and shared responsibility, reinforcing the message that we are one community.
