The Friendship Group celebrates winter with White Christmas gathering

It was a celebration of friendship through gift giving and sharing a meal.

The Friendship Group held White Christmas event at the Kyalami Clubhouse, inviting any person of any colour, age or gender.

This event was one of many that the group hosts to revive the spirit of love and friendship, where all members brought meals and snacks for everyone to share.

This group was formed last year by Suzanne Ravenall, because her elderly mother needed friendship.

The group of friends said celebrating White Christmas was not a religious thing, but a way to continue the tradition of Christmas, which is gift-giving and sharing.

“We really decided to celebrate White Christmas this year for the first time because we normally celebrate Christmas in December, and we just wanted something to get us together in happy spirits. We also just wanted to do it because it’s winter and the white [dress theme] would represent snow,” said Pilling.

Members brought their friends and family to the celebration.

They expressed the importance of having such events and said that after seeing the success of this White Christmas celebration, they look forward to having more in the coming years.
