Ubuntu Rabie Ridge Foundation sets sights on bigger community impact

With successful projects already under its belt, the Ubuth Rabie Ridge Foundation is looking for partners to take its work even further.

With more than 300 unemployed young people on its database and growing community needs, the Ubuntu Rabie Ridge Foundation is ramping up its efforts to attract donors and partners to help expand its impact.

Founded earlier this year by the foundation’s founder and community leader, George ‘Loveg’ Henry, the organisation has already launched several successful community initiatives, including sanitary pad donations for schoolgirls, learnership opportunities for young people and a winter blanket drive supporting vulnerable families.

Now, the organisation is appealing to businesses, organisations and individuals to partner with it as it works to empower young people and tackle poverty. The foundation has since expanded its outreach through a winter blanket drive following a generous donation from Acts of Love Church.

The church donated 100 blankets, 100 beanies and 10 soup packs, which will benefit vulnerable families during the cold winter months.

Henry thanked the church for its support.

“Because of the church’s generosity, 100 families will stay warm and have hope this winter. Your kindness is a true reflection of God’s love in action, and we are honoured to partner with an organisation that is making a real difference in our communities,” said Henry.

“Our main purpose is to assist young people who have been affected by drug and alcohol abuse, unemployment and other social challenges.”

Henry said the organisation currently has a database of more than 300 unemployed young people seeking opportunities.

“We are looking for donors and partners who want to help create real change in our community. We have more than 300 young people on our database who are unemployed and living in poverty. Our goal is to address service delivery through job creation, and we are already making progress by securing learnership opportunities for our youth.”

Foundation treasurer Jasmine Mavuso said partnerships with donors and sponsors are critical to ensuring the organisation’s long-term sustainability.

“We cannot do this work on our own. What keeps us going is our vision and our mission to reach those who are most affected in our community,” she said.

Mavuso added that the foundation has already secured 100 learnership opportunities covering early childhood development, sports and food security programmes.

The foundation encourages businesses, organisations and members of the public to support its various community upliftment initiatives through donations, sponsorships or partnerships.
