New Jerusalem appeals for paving donations ahead of rainy season

The children’s home continues its mission to keep young children safe, but this time they are calling on the community for assistance.

New Jerusalem Children’s Home is appealing to community members, businesses, and potential donors to assist with paving the front yard of its administration area, which the children use to walk from the home to school.

The children’s home, which now also has a school called Lanto Montessori, is seeking donations to pave the yard to help keep children safe, especially during harsh rainy weather.

According to Hopkins Kaira, the home’s marketing manager, the current condition of the yard makes it difficult for children to move between the home and the school when it rains and the ground becomes muddy.

“It is not nice to see children arriving at class with muddy shoes and socks when it is raining, or slipping because of the muddy ground. Assistance with the paving project will make the children’s lives easier, especially during the rainy season,” said Kaira.

The paving project also aims to create a cleaner environment for everyone, including teachers and the staff, while ensuring a safe outdoor space where children can walk, play, and take part in activities without the risk of injury.

While the home has received donations in the past and remains deeply appreciative of that support, it believes this project is another important step in improving the facility and ensuring the children’s safety by providing a stable surface for their daily movement.

Kaira explained that the home welcomes all forms of donations, whether in the form of building materials, labour for the paving project, or financial assistance.

The home believes every contribution, big or small, can make a meaningful difference in helping create a better and safer space for the children.
