Region A Customer Service Centre finally fully reopens

The centre, which was closed in March, partially reopened on April 20 with only the revenue services department operational.

Full operations for the Region A Customer Service Centre are now guaranteed for Midrand residents, offering services such as account payments, meter investigation requests, and new electricity, water, and sewage connections.

In response to enquiries about possible service backlogs — including billing disputes, account queries, or reconnection requests — Maphologela said, “The city wishes to reassure residents that during the brief closure, no backlogs or delays in query resolutions were experienced, as customer traffic was successfully diverted to nearby centres and online channels.”

He added that residents can also access the city’s services digitally and remotely. “While the Midrand centre is ready to welcome walk-ins, Region A customers are highly encouraged to utilize the city’s robust digital and remote service channels to save time and travel costs.”

These include:
• The e-Joburg Portal: For statement downloads, billing queries, and online payments.
• The CoJ CSD Mobile App: For on-the-go account management and logging service breakdowns.
• Regional Email Channels: For direct communication with dedicated regional agents.
