Midrand DJ follows his passion

MIDRAND – "I challenge myself not to let my challenges make me quit and be discouraged," said Lesego Dihemo, better known as Enigma LS.

Lesego Dihemo, better known as Enigma LS, said he was ready for new challenges and growth.

Dihemo is one of Midrand’s well-known DJs, most notably known for his skills on decks and pleasing crowds through his multi-genre-mixing abilities.

Dihemo said, “Although I am a qualified chemical engineer, my passion has always been in entertainment, media and arts… I started my journey in music in 2003 in the trenches, shadowing, learning and working with Pretorian giants like Essential I, Positive K, Dizzy Mof, Miggs Foreal, Nastee Nev, Vinny da Vinci to name a few.

“This was back in Ga Rankuwa and Mabopane before I officially started deejaying in 2009.”

Elaborating on the challanges he has faced, he said, “Obstacles that come with the grind for me have always included, among other things, getting gigs, being exploited by those whom you trusted and have starved with. These challenges go as far as getting underpaid and undermined even when you outshine a headliner at a gig because you are an underdog.”

He added that the biggest challenge was making a name for himself. “I challenge myself not to let my challenges make me quit and be discouraged.”

He said after being the underdog for years, people were now starting to notice his efforts and versatility as a DJ. “I’m looking forward to using my platform to contribute more to social development, doing more in television and radio, working and releasing material with idols and industry colleagues.”

He concluded, “Last but not least, I look forward to upcoming gigs and my trajectory as a DJ and flying the flag high.”
