Comedians bring laughter
MIDRAND – Comedians Mashabela Galane and Peter Mashata introduced up-and-coming comedians along with some new material to the crowd.
Comedians Mashabela Galane and Peter Mashata introduced up-and-coming comedians as well as their new material to the crowd at the Imbizo Shisanyama Comedy Night on 19 May.
Galane explained that the show aimed to create a platform for up-and-coming comedians to perform in front of a live crowd. “Comedians always send me direct messages on social media platforms asking me if they could perform with me. This [event] is also for comedians who have been performing to come and present new material at this spot,” he added.
Galane added that due to Covid-19, he learned to branch out and explore different business ventures to support him. “I am also doing shows around Limpopo, Cape Town and the Free State, and I’m busy with Peter Mashata doing soul sessions on Sundays through a concept called Genefied Soul whilst he does the Love Talk. We play soul music with a touch of comedy,” he added.
Galane concluded that if all goes well and there is not another lockdown, they will continue doing more shows.
