Meet your face of Rabie Ridge
Miss Face of Rabie Ridge 2 was a success with young models strutting on stage at Kanana Community Hall.
The second annual Miss Face of Rabie Ridge beauty pageant was held on November 11 at Kanana Community Hall, where two young local models, Bohlokoa-Katleho Mavuso and Amahle Malambule, emerged as winners.
Bohlokoa (11) won the coveted queen’s accolade, while Amahle (14) was crowned as this year’s ambassador.
According to Sanele Khuzwayo, one of the pageant’s founders, the event has grown significantly since its inception last year, inspiring local models to showcase their skills and become the voice of their community.
During the pageant, both models, Bohlokoa and Amahle exhibited their creativity, self-discipline, passion, and love for the pageant.
They put in their best effort to impress the judges and the audience with their stunning looks, charming smiles, and graceful stage presence.
Bohlokoa, who is in Grade 6 at Dunvegan Primary School, and resides with her parents, Rethabile Mavuso and Victor Ndlovu, was advised by ‘Gogo Sangweni’ and ‘Sisi Finky’ from Amatshitshi Empela in Rabie Ridge to pursue modelling.
She was also encouraged by the support she received from her family and jumped straight into the industry.
Bohlokoa has won several modelling accolades in the past, including Miss Tswelopele 2022 Top Model, Miss Teen Planet South Africa, and Fashion Queen of Miss Beauty and Glamour 2023. She idolises Zozibini Tunzi, a strong, educated, and intelligent woman with excellent modelling skills.
In contrast, Amahle, a Grade 9 learner at Allanridge Secondary School and a resident of Rabie Ridge participated in a pageant for the first time, hoping to redefine beauty and uplift her community by giving back.
Winning the Miss Face of Rabie Ridge 2023/24 ambassador title was a significant accomplishment for her and has inspired her to believe that anything is possible with self-confidence and determination.
Just like Bohlokoa, Amahle is also inspired by Zozibini Tunzi and aims to inspire both girls and boys who share her dream.
She wants to encourage people to embrace their naturalness in all forms, just like her role model.
Winning the best entrepreneur sesh at her first-ever pageant has further motivated her to pursue her dreams and become a successful model and entrepreneur.
