Premier Mandla officially opens state-of-the-art Troya Clinic

Premier Mandla Ndlovu officially opened the Troya Clinic in Dr JS Local Municipality.

The Mpumalanga premier, Mandla Ndlovu, officially opened the state-of-the-art Troya Clinic in the Dr JS Moroka Local Municipality on Tuesday, July 7, bringing quality primary healthcare services closer to the people of Troya and surrounding areas.

The clinic will provide a comprehensive package of primary healthcare services, including:
• Maternal and child healthcare
• Chronic disease management
• HIV and TB services
• Immunisation
• Routine health screenings
• Health promotion programmes.

The clinic is expected to serve approximately 4 960 people within its catchment area, significantly reducing the distance and waiting times residents previously faced when accessing healthcare services.

The event featured free health promotions and screening services for community members, including screenings for hypertension, diabetes, HIV, TB and cancer.

Executive Mayor of the Dr JS Moroka Local Municipality, Cllr. Nomsa Sanny Mtsweni, Premier Mandla Ndlovu, MEC for health, Sesakani Manzini and Chief Whip and Ward 23 Councillor, Cllr John Swanyane Nkgodi.

Speaking at the event, the premier said the handover of the clinic reaffirms the provincial government’s belief that quality healthcare is not privilege for a few, but a constitutional right. He described the milestone as one that will restore dignity to the people and improve access to quality healthcare.
