TS Sporting to kick-start new season at home

TS Sporting, campaigners in the GladAfrica Championship, will open the 2021/22 football season at home today (August 21).

Scheduled to play against Pretoria Callies at the KaBokweni Stadium, Sporting will be without their mentor, Kabelo Sibiya, who reportedly resigned last week.

“TS Sporting amicably part ways with head coach Sibiya. The club thank him for all his contributions and wish him well on his future endeavours,” read the team’s message on their official Twitter account.

Latest reports from the camp are that the team have roped in the services of another seasoned coach, Milton Dlamini. Dlamini, the former Baroka FC coach, boasts a colourful career having coached a number of teams, including the Durbanbased Royal Eagles.

He will be joining Sporting’s newly appointed team manager, Sandile Stanley Sibande.

Sibande is a product of the School of Excellence and has played for Bidvest Wits, Polokwane City and Moroka Swallows. Sporting will be looking to carry on where they had left off in the previous season, when they finished in position four on the GladAfrica Championship table.

They will need to start off the season on a high note, as their next game is away in the Mother City, facing the tricky Cape Town All Stars on Friday August 27.
