MBOMBELA – A man accused of fraud, after being arrested for allegedly scamming three women of R4 500 in exchange for permanent employment at Rob Ferreira Hospital, will appear at the Nelspruit Magistrate’s Court today.

Lucky Sipho Mdaka (45) is facing charges of fraud. He was nabbed by security guards at Rob Ferreira Hospital after they were tipped off by two men who had accompanied his victims on February 18.

According to the three women, the accused promised to secure them jobs at the hospital, claiming he is close to one of the MECs who has an influence in the human resources department.

They alleged he demanded R6 500 from each of them, but only gave him R4 500 and had agreed to pay the balance the following week when they started suspecting he was a con man. He was later arrested the same day after he tried fleeing, but was caught.
