Suspect confess killing a seven year old girl
A suspect made a formal confession in court of killing a seven year old girl .

GRASKOP – A 30-year-old man who is alleged to be a serial killer, confessed that he brutally murdered a seven-year-old girl.
He made his second appearance in the Mhala Magistrate’s Court on Monday. The suspect who is allegedly accused of using two surnames, known as Sydwell Mabaso or Mabunda, senselessly strangled the child with a pantyhose. He indicated in court that he did not need legal representatives or bail as he already made his formal confession.
It is alleged that when this horrible incident occurred, the girl was in the company of her two friends and on their way to school.
Mabunda pretended to be accompanying them then led the victim to another direction and suddenly disappeared with her into the bushes. It was reported that she didn’t reach school, and her mother was worried.
Mabunda, who is reported to be the mother’s ex-boyfriend, called her and told her where to find the lifeless body in the bushes. She informed the police. Unfortunately when they arrived on the scene, the suspect was nowhere to be found.
Community members and police worked tirelessly and searched for Madunda.
He was arrested in Gauteng after his new girlfriend saw on social media (Facebook) that he was wanted for murder and tipped off the police.
Mpumalanga News has uncovered that Mabunda got a chance to be very close to the family of the victim after he claimed to be desperate for shelter and approached the father of the victim, a well-respected pastor in the area.
Speaking to this reporter, the pastor said the family is still traumatised. “What we normally do in our church is to help people who need assistance. The man came to and asked for shelter, then we welcomed him and I offered him a place to stay since he told us that he’s originally from Phalaborwa, but has family in the province. He said that they had problems.
“I was trying to help him, I didn’t think that he would kill my child. He told us that he believed he was controlled by Satan to commit such an evil deed to my family. We are traumatized and justice must be done,“ he said.
It has also surfaced that it all started when the pastor found out that Mabunda had impregnated another daughter of the pastor and when he was approached by the family, he got angry and went further and killed the girl.
The office of the provincial commissioner, Gen Lt Thulani Ntobela released a statement where they indicated saying: “Now since the suspect made confession it is clear that we have a right man behind bars and the law will take its course.“
Community members were also urged to remain calm while police continue to probe this horrifying act. Since the Women’s Month started, it brought to this paper’s attention that women abuse is reaching its toll.
Earlier this year a representative of the Nguni Cluster of the Mother’s Union in Anglican Church from different places such KwaZulu-Natal and Swaziland gathered at Nutting House and called upon government to give a harsher sentence for perpetrators who are abusing women as South Africa is rated the highest when it comes to domestic violence, rape, human trafficking and murder cases in the world.
Some of the incidents that raised serious concern include that these days women lose their dignity in society because of different horrible incidents of abuse that is taking place in the society such us gang rape and murder of 17-year-old Anene Booysen that happened during the month love, February 2013.
It raised a serious concern to the country and to the international community.
The recent raping of a 79-year-old helpless woman in Bergville, KwaZulu-Natal was a disgrace to humanity and undermined our culture and the brutal attack of 49-year-old Esther Maage outside a shop in Limpopo by security, with teenage girls watching and laughing, is one of the worse attacks to women of her age.
