Welfare lands the fairways
Golfers tee'd off in aid of Child Welfare this past week where the resounding them was on family planning...

Condomise. Year on year it is the Pter Cruse Child Welfare Golf Day that brings together the who’s who in the business community for a round of golf on the prestine greens of the Nelspruit golf club at Matumi Estates. The aim of this annual event is not only to have as much fun on the day whilest enjoying a round of great golf, but to raise much needed funds for the many children in dire need of support around the country.
One of the greatest challenges facing the organizations such as Child Welfare, is eductaion. More specifically education around family planning and even more specifically in the rural areas. Often times it is the lack of education around contraception that results in young girls falling pregnant. These girls become ostrocised from schools and support groups and often need to raise their children alone. This places a tremendous amount of strain on the community and government which in turn negatively impacts on the children.
At this year’s golf day, members of Child Welfare were seen all around the course sporting bright green attire and handing out information booklets and condems to all participants. The funds raised at the event will be donated to this worthy cause and help fight for the rights of children accross the full spectrum of the South African landscape.
