NELSPRUIT – It is not true that all roads lead to Rome.

On September 7, they actually led to the Curro Spring Festival and Food Fair where parking was at a premium – the venue was packed. The place was abuzz with sound, an overload of vibrant colour and aromatic kitchens! At the other end of the spectrum – a stall where you could literally smell the poop (in bottles) of various wild animals – then judge the length. Yes, I mean, the real thing and I think, wonderfully original!

Walking billboards greeted you wherever you went.

What was amazing, was the involvement of parents who engaged the kids in activities which were our BBM, Facebook and video entertainment in years gone by? The foefie-slide, spookhuis and pillow-fighting were but a few!

A taste stop at every stall would probably have had your constitution complaining, but your soul would have been invigorated by the vibrancy of the event and above all else – the smiles and exuberance of the kids who hit their mattresses soon after arriving back home – not as exhausted as Mom and Dad of course – but nevertheless!

Oh, and I was kidding about smelling the poop thing! Got ya! Keep it up Curro – you have a winning recipe!
