Winning architects of the university’s design competition announced
The event was held at the soon to be University's main campus, the Lowveld Agricultural College.
MBOMBELA – Thursday marked one of the milestone moments for the province.
This as the Deputy Minister, Mr Mduduzi Manana, in the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) announced the four winners who will be responsible of the architectural design of the much talked about University of Mpumalanga.
The announcement follows the department’s design competition which saw various architects showcasing their designs which underwent a vigorous selection process.
The event was held at the soon to be University’s main campus, the Lowveld Agricultural College.
“Our decision to embark on this architectural design competition derives from a deep appreciation of the important influence that the physical environment has on the quality of the teaching and learning experience,” said Manana.
He said this before announcing the four winners which are Cohen and Garson, Conco Bryan Architects, TC Design Group (Pty) Ltd andf Gapp Architects and Urban Designers (Pty) Ltd.
