ANC wins municipal by-elections
Four of the five vacant ward councillor positions were won by the ruling party.
MBOMBELA – the ruling party has expressed its gratitude to province’s citizens following by-election victory.In
a statement issued by the ANC reads: ” Once again the majority
expressed their confidence in the ANC as demonstrated by the results
released by the IEC.This comes amid the municipal by-elections that took place in four municipalities on November 27.
Four of the five vacant ward councillor positions were won by the ruling party.
The results are as follows:-In Mkhondo Municipality’s Ward 16 the ANC won by 60.47%.-In Emalahleni (ward 22), the Democratic Alliance won the ward by 66.47%.-In ThabaChweu local municipality’s ward 6, the ANC won by 78.24% -And in Mbombela municipality’s ward 21 and ward 34, the ANC won by 88.61% and 90.67%, respectively.
