Umjindi mayor says Madiba was father to the nation

As the whole world mourns the passing on of the Father of the Nation, Mr Nelson Mandela, messages of condolence are still pouring from different structures in the province as the executive mayor of Umjindi Local Municipality, Cllr Lazarus Mashaba said:

“First of all, I’d like to send condolence to the Mandela family. This is a big loss to the whole country. He was not only a good leader, but he was the Father of the Nation as he played a very significant role in uniting the country.

We are living in a democracy in South Africa because of him. We thank the Almighty God for lending us Mandela. He was a precious gift in the country. May his soul rest in peace. We will always love you Tata.“
