ELUKWATINI- A 16-year-old minor and a 26 year old arrested in connection with the murder of a 44-year-old man over an alleged love triangle briefly appeared in Eesterhoek Magistrate Court on December 10.
They are expected to appear again in court today (December 12) for their formal bail application.
Mr Mafika Bongani Nkosi a.k.a “Papa Action” (26) and the minor are accused of killing Mr Petros Malele on November 23 at about 01:00 after he gave the accused and their girlfriends a lift from local tavern. He apparently realised that his vehicle had run out of petrol and would not be able to take them any further.
According to police all hell broke lose when a 19 year-old woman asked to drive the car to prove still drive further and the deceased alighted from the driver’s seat to give way to her.
Apparently the accused suspected Malele of having an affair with woman who was also Nkosi’s girlfriend.
Nkosi stabbed him while Mathebula helped by wrestling the deceased to the ground, until he died.
Police information further states that the put the deceased body into the car-boot drove around until the following morning,where drove eastwards of Elukwatini and dumped the body near a river at Enkhaba Trust.
The deceased was discovered members of the community who were loading river sand about 11:00 on November 24 and called police.
The two were arrested after following an investigation by the police,asking community members about people who were last seen with the deceased.
