NELSPRUIT – A family living in an exclusive estate were attacked in their home by three armed men. The robbery took place at Eco Estate by the Rest at around 03:00 this morning.
According to Bossies Community Justice Mr Jacques Meiring, the three men who were armed with 9mm firearms , entered the house through a door in the garage. “They first went into the daughter’s room and tied her up with wire.”
He said the men then proceeded to tie up the husband and wife with wire as well. Meiring said the men seemed to know who the family were and suspected that they had been watching them prior to the robbery.
“The wife managed to free herself once the men had left and ran to a neighbour’s house to call the police”.
He said the men had taken the victims phones , but although the house apparently had top of the range electronic equipment, nothing else as far as he knew had been taken.
He said the victims stated that the three suspects had worn Balaklava’s and gloves.
“We responded to the scene with Hi-Tech security and scanned the area for the suspects, but it was an hour later so they had vanished.”
