Domestic violence on the increase

It is allegedly believed that most women are victims of domestic violence such as physical and verbal abuse because the perpetrators take advantage of when they don't open cases.

MBOMBELA – The Commission on Gender Equality (CGE) in the province urged women to stand up and report incidents of domestic violence.

This comes after the commission realised that such incidents were on the increase.

It is allegedly believed that most women are victims of domestic violence such as physical and verbal abuse because the perpetrators take advantage of when they don’t open cases.

Recently, members of ZAC church in Marite were left in shock after a woman was beaten to death by her husband inside the church.

According to a member who didn’t want her name published, she heard a woman screaming, begging for mercy, but she thought the sound was coming from afar.”

I heard somebody screaming, but I didn’t realise that voice was coming from inside the church. I’m still very shocked,” she explained.
