MANZINI – Broken chairs and desks at a leading school in this village are set to endager the track record held by this institution regarding its year-end results.

Lungisani High School, which has attained a 100 per cent matric pass rate for the past few years, is experiencing challenges as learners in some classrooms have to write on their laps during lessons due to broken furniture.

This was revealed to Mpumalanga News by pupils of the school, who wished to remain anonymous.

They further revealed that the grade 11s were experiencing the greatest problems.

A parent, who also spoke to this newspaper, revealed that her son always complained about backache as a result of the discomfort of bending down each time he had to write.

A community member added, “I think there must be more classrooms to accommodate the children because if there are be more of them, furniture will be provided.”

Mpumalanga News visited the school to investigate the allegations last Thursday.
On inspection, there it found broken chairs and desks in classroom.
