LUPHISI – It is everybody‘s responsibility to keep the homeland clean.
This was proven when the local women took out to the streets and collected every piece of paper and bottles around the area.
They started the recycle project last year March in order to improve the rural area’s state of appearance.
The place is not very well known among many people, yet it has a bi tourism potential.
Ms Thulisile Mhaule, founder of the project said: “We are cleaning local taverns, shops and schools. We take these and recycle with Inter waste.
It may look like rubbish, but it creates job opportunities. The youth is struggling with job opportunities, so we are also creating jobs for those who are unemployed.
“Our mission is to spread to other local townships so that we can have many members. Bit by bit our communities will be a hygienic environment,” she added.
The group of 13 only work during week days as they are busy on weekends. The targeted areas are the most polluted ones and their vision is to witness a clean tiny area.
