New MTPA Interim Board announced
The MEC for the Department of Economic Development, Mr. Eric Kholwane has announced the names of the new interim board for the Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency and it consists of usual faces in the industry.
The MEC for the Department of Economic Development, Mr. Eric Kholwane has announced the names of the new interim board for the Mpumalanga Tourism and Parks Agency and it consists of usual faces in the industry. The board is said to carry forward the objective of building up an inclusive economy that creates jobs.
The 11-member-board will be effective for six months until February 28, 2014, and is subject to termination when the appointment of the new board is finalized.
“Let me take this opportunity to express our gratitude to the members of the previous Board, for their service since assuming office in 2010.
They have made valuable contribution towards shaping the work of the Agency during their four-year nature,” said Mr. Eric Kholwane, MEC for Finance, Economic Development and Tourism.
According to Mr.
Kholwane, the economy is expected to create approximately 390 000 additional and sustainable work opportunities by 2019.
The board members are:
• Mr. Sipho Lubisi (Chairperson), who previously served as the Speaker of Mpumalanga Provincial Legislature for two terms.
• Dr. Madoda Mabunda (Deputy Chairperson) who has previously served as the CEO of the South African National Parks (2003 0- 2013); and the Director of the Kruger National Parks (1997 – 2003).
• Dr. Paul Lombart who is the Managing Member of ADFS and Managing Director of the Khaya Ngwane Education Project.
• Ms Carole Chiloane who is the Executive Director of Kutlwano Investment Holdings.
• Mr. Jabulani Linda is the current NUMSA Provincial Secretary.
• Mr. Tlou Keetse is the Head of Franchise and Stakeholder Relations at Old Mutual and Board Member of BMF Mpumalanga.
• Ms. Helen Thrush is the Chairperson of the IT Committee of the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants.
• Ms. Tholakele Nkambule is the Director for Ntobe Fire Control.
• Ms. Tshepiso Masenya is the current Managing Director and Executive Consultant at the TSL Global Consultants.
• Mr. Christopher Gololo was a Member of Parliament from 2004 until 2014.
• Ms. Nomaswazi Shabangu is the current Deputy Chairperson for the Black Lawyers Association since 2011.
