MACHADODORP – It was all smiles accompanied by song and dance at the Emthonjeni Family Units under Emakahazeni Municipality on Saturday, when Dumezulu General Dealer and Construction donated R500 000 worth of sportswear to local schools.

“We are doing this as our bit to keep the youth off the streets and give them something constructive to do. We had a job this side and this was our way of giving back.

We do not measure our profit with money, but with the change we make in the communities in which we work,” said Mr Themba Sigudla of Dumezulu. The executive mayor, Cllr Hamzer Ngwenya expressed his gratitude while addressing the youth and encouraging them to take advantage of these opportunities.

“We promote sport and we definitely welcome such initiatives. We want to thank the Spirit of George, as the company has been named, for remembering us in such a manner,” he said.

The band which performed on the day also walked away with good news as the company promised to donate R100 000 for uniforms and more equipment.

“We find joy in helping people as a company and we will not tire from it,” Sigudla added.
