Learners aim high for upcoming exams
However, the learners raised concerns about the shortage of study material but they were adamant that it will not prevent them from passing their exams.
MATSULU- Following a five days school holiday camp at their school facility,Siftokotile high school students have said they are ready for exams.
The camp was organised in a bid to improve the learners’ previous Grade 12 results record.
Following Madiba’s ethos, that education is a key to success, learners from this school also believe that without education one cannot succeed life’s challenges.
The confident learners have vowed to pass their exams with excellence and improve their previous record drastically.
“We are in a good form to write our final exam and we promise that we will pass because we have been preparing since the year began. Come exam we are ready for you,”said one of the learners.
Last year, this school had set their record on 61.7% and even tough they did not achieve the target, this year the learners challenged themselves by setting a higher target and compete with the best performing schools in the province.
“We want to make history and make our teachers and parents proud,” said Sfiso Nkambule.
However, the learners raised concerns about the shortage of study material but they were adamant that it will not prevent them from passing their exams.
“We don’t have enough study material in our school but I am just happy with the support that we get from our teachers. They are very committed into assisting us pass our exams,” commented another learner.
In the 2013 school calendar, five schools under Ehlanzeni Region attained 100% on their record. These schools include amongst others, Shayaza Combined (Malelane), Mathews Phosa College (Schoemanskloof), Hoerskool Nelspruit, Hlanganani Secondary (Kabokweni) and Beacon College (Malelane)
