Police on the look-out for car hijackers

The complainants were threatened with firearms before the suspects drove away with them and later left them (complainants) at Mangweni Sugar cane farm.

TONGA – Police are on the look-out for three armed men who hijacked a 58-year- old woman her grey Opel Corsa DXL368 MP yesterday.

According to Const Mzwandile Nyambi, spokesperson for the local police, the complainant was with her sister busy working on their plantation when they were suddenly approached by three unknown armed men.

“They were threatened with firearms and the suspects drove away with them and later dropped them at Mangweni Sugar cane farm and they (suspects) drove away with the car,” said Nyambi.

He urged the community to be extra careful when working on their farms as they may never know when they may be attacked.
