Chefs arrested for hospital food theft

Three African females were arrested in possession of stolen groceries at Tonga Hospital this week.

TONGA – Three African females were arrested in possession of stolen groceries at Tonga Hospital this week. The three suspects who worked as chefs at the hospital were allegedly knocking off from work and were searched by the security guards that discovered stolen groceries meant to be given to the patients at the hospital.

“Groceries such as bread, meat and fruits, are but some of the items that were found by the guards in these women’s bags. The police were informed and went to the crime scene and thus the suspects were arrested,” said Tonga SAPS Spokesperson, Lt Mzwandile Nyambi.

The three suspects are to appear at the local magistrate court soon. Police are appealing to the community to stop stealing properties belonging to the organization as the things are meant to serve the community and to help plan ahead instead of pulling back.
