Gift of blankets warms the heart
In partnership with Mpumalanga News, the Nkomazi Charity Foundation (NCF) took the initiative to give to the needy and to help them endure the winter chill.

NKOMAZI – Ten families had the privilege of receiving grocery packs and blankets to help them keep warm this winter.
In partnership with Mpumalanga News, the Nkomazi Charity Foundation (NCF) took the initiative to give to the needy and to help them endure the winter chill.
“We understand that grocery packs are temporary, thus we have partnered with the Department of Social Development to help these families sustain a living by looking at their needs and helping them with matters relating to grants and other things.
Giving is fulfilling when you do it from the heart, and this Saturday was proof of that,” said Abigail Tshabalala, founder of NCF.
Tshabalala commended the involvement of the paper and all the sponsors.
“We helped 10 families altogether, from Schoemansdal, Block B, all through to Dludluma.
Seeing the families smiling just brings joy to my heart. It would be selfish of me to take all the credit.
“It was possible through the help of Mpumalanga News, Nkomazi FM, Boxer Superstores, Mvuleni Funeral Services and the Department of Social Development.
One might look down on the power vested in the media, I was astonished to learn that some people came through to donate after reading the article in the paper.
It’s really amazing to know that the paper gives such platforms to change people’s lives.
“I want to give a special mention to Mr Bongani Msithini and Adv Pat Sekatane, these are the people who jumped on board and extended a hand to the needy.
The world would be a better place with a lot more people such as this,” she added.
According to Tshabalala, this was only the beginning.
“We started in Steenbok, with only three families, and we want to help more than that, not only with grocery packs, we want to give these families something to sustain them for the future.
We definitely have a long way to go, and I’m really thankful to our partners,” she concluded.
