A Barberton fashion designer has proved that the sky is the limit as he continues to make a name for himself in the fashion world with his Ghetto Style.
Sibusiso Sibande is slowly climbing the ladder and making his way to the top.
Speaking to Mpumalanga News, Sibande said he fell in love with fashion design at an early age but only decided to take his work seriously in 2012.
He said he started off by sewing materials with his hands until his Ghetto Style started gaining momentum in his area.
He said what made his attires different was the fact that he was using kasi style in a modern way.
His big break was when his works and outfits were used by local celebrities such as radio presenters and footballers in 2013 and he has never looked back ever again.
“Let me first indicate that it’s not easy to survive in this industry, but if you love what you are doing, you can overcome any obstacles.
“I started from the bottom but now I am here. I still believe that I have a long way to go in the industry. But so far, I am happy about some of the things that I have managed to achieve.”
Even though he doesn’t own a boutique, he dreams of making it big and eventually ends up owning one.
