Parents urged to protect children

Last week the police conducted a door-to-door campaign at Etigulubeni section.

BARBERTON – Local police urged parents to be responsible and play their role properly especially during this festive seasons as incidents of rape is reaching high.

The call comes at the time where the police are busy with the activities for the 16 days of activism for no violent against woman and children.

Mpumalanga News learnt that some of their activities will focus more on children as it has been discovered that minors are falling
victims of rape in this area .

“Parents must be responsible and monitor their children when they are playing with their friends and they must not be sent to shops alone especially in the evening,” said the spokesperson of the local police Const Tutu Nkosi .

Last week the police conducted a door-to-door campaign at Etigulubeni section where two minors between the ages of two and five were raped.
