Local star to represent in Hype competition

He is currently featured on HYPE magazine representing Mpumalanga on the New Comers Delight. Voting starts on the of February 1 to 12. Only one vote is allowed per day.

A locally based rising star needs support as he will represents the province on the hype new comers delight.

Siyabonga Mngomezulu known as Cya was born and bred in the dusty streets of Ermelo in Mpumalanga, he later moved to Dundonald where he attended his primary and secondary education.

Cya developed his love and passion for music back in high school, he was looking up to Zulu Boy, F-Eezy, Pro and Teargas. In 2009 Cya started writing his own lyrics, recorded with his phone and let his friends rate him.

He and his school friends formed a group named Game Quest, they made a name for themselves around the province, holding online interviews.

As no one cannot predict the future, after matric they all went their different directions due to personal reasons. He then decided to pursue his solo music career and released his single ‘Imali’ which did so well on local radio stations.

In 2013 he took part in the SA Got Talent show to showcase his talents. He shot his first professional music video with STQ Pictures which really boosted his fan base. In 2013 he entered the Route 40 Talent search at Casterbridge Music Development Academy (CMDA) and came out second which gave him a chance to share a stage with Vusi Mahlasela.

Late in 2014 Cya was discovered by the award-winning theatre actor and radio personality, Biziwe Masango of Ikwekwezi FM who signed him under his company Matwetwe Entertainment.From there he never looked back.
