Station manager bids farewell

Mabalane was also integral in signing DJ Sbu and establishing the #DJSbuBreakfast.

MBOMBELA – Rise FM station manager, Ferdinand Mabalane, who successfully led the station’s turnaround over the past two years, has completed his contract and will officially leave the station as of December.

As a respected media content specialist, Mabalane was contracted by the Times Media Group (TMG) in 2014 to manage the relaunch of the station and to position it as the home of the progressive, black, adult audience in Mpumalanga.

We thank him for his dedication and commitment and wish him well as he moves on to his next challenge.”

Mabalane was also integral in signing DJ Sbu and establishing the #DJSbuBreakfast. The show has been a huge hit, this was evident last week when his live show at The Grove and Promenade shopping centres drew mass crowds.
“I will seriously miss the province, the people and the awesome team at Rise FM.

It has been an honour and a privilege to have been part of making the station the success it is today, and to have helped establish a strong on-air product which appeals to both listeners and advertisers alike,” said Mabalane. Rise FM’s seasoned programme manager, Tony Murrell, has been appointed acting station manager.
