Organisation to help NPOs

The organisation will also help to avoid duplication of NPO’s in same locations which in most cases make it difficult for them to receive help.

MBOMBELA – The chairperson of a newly formed, City of Mbombela Non Profit Organisation (NPO) association aimed at helping NPO around Mbombela invites NPO members to board meetings across Mbombela.

“We aim to unite all non-profit organisations in the City of Mbombela to speak in one voice and help them be in a better position to get funds form potential funders,” says Ps Simon Mdluli.

He says the organisation will also help to avoid duplication of NPO’s in same locations which in most cases make it difficult for them to receive help.

“We want them to broaden their scope of work such as opening unique organisations which may include rehabilitation centres as we are in short of them and old age homes. We will help them even apply for funds from the U.S. Ambassador’s Special Self-Help Program which assists community-based projects in the country,” he adds.

Research shows that the goal of the U.S’s Self-Help Program is to improve the basic economic and social conditions of the community.

Meetings for the selection of board members will be held in the following areas from 10:00.

On February 6 the meeting will be held at Barberton Alliance Church, on February 7, the meeting will be at Nyongane Alliance Church in Hazyview, on February 8 the meeting will be at Phumelela Bible College. Meetings will also be held at Kabokweni Community Hall on February 9, Clau Clau Community Hall on February 10 and Lekazi Community Hall on February 14.
