Why are South African women not rising to the highest positions in the ANC?

Are they vulnerable to their male counterparts’ dominance in that they do not rise above matters affecting society but have continued rowing the wrong horse in the build-up to the recent elective conference?

Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma for instance, had an opportunity but her campaign was affected by being backed by former president and ex-husband, Jacob Zuma.
