Angry community disrupts memorial lecture

The mob blocked the entrance of the hall demanding roads, electricity and houses.

The Nelson Mandela memorial lecture that was supposed to be delivered by Peter Nyoni, ANC provincial chairman candidate was disrupted by angry community members on Saturday.

The crowd blocked the entrance to the Embalenhle South Hall. They refused Nyoni and his entourage to proceed with the lecture.

They kept on singing struggle songs and did not allow any of the ANC members to address them. The community accused  the local municipality for failure to deliver services.

 

Journalists were also threatened while taking  pictures.
