MEC Ngomane and Nkomazi Mayor to visit crash victim families

Bodies of 14 people have already been identified and it is only one person who is yet to be identified.

Mpumalanga Community Safety, Security and Liaison MEC Pat Ngomane and Nkomazi Local Mayor, Cllr. Johan Mkhatshwa will visit 12 of the families of the crash victims who perished in a horrific crash that occurred on Friday evening.

According to the spokesperson, Joseph Mabuza the entourage will meet on Monday morning at Kamhlushwa Community Hall before embarking on the programme. “They will pay homage to families individually as part of offering support and offering condolences to these families. Twelve of the deceased are residents of Nkomazi Local Municipality. The deceased driver of the involved midi bus taxi and another victim are from Bushbuckridge and Middelburg respectively,” said Mabuza.

The post-mortem is expected to commence on Monday. The appointed task team is also expected to look into the possibility of arranging mass memorial and funeral services for the Nkomazi victims.
