Several roads leading to Mbombela blocked

Many roads leading to the City of Mbombela have been blocked with debris and burning tyres this morning.

The R40 between Mbombela and White River was blocked with burning tyres at Rocky’s Drift, Msholozi and near Metropolitan College entrances.

However, the road was later opened with traffic moving at a snail’s pace around 08:00.

Col Mntsholi Bhembe said: “We also learnt this morning that several roads were closed in different areas including Kanyamazane, Kabokweni and Khumbula. We are not sure of the cause except that in Khumbula the people are demanding electricity,” he said.
