Ligwalagwala FM presenter appears in court for excessive speeding

The radio presenter was driving 143 km per hour on a 100 km per hour zone on the R40.

Among the drivers arrested for excessive speeding on the R40 during traffic operations between Umjindi and Mbombela is Ligwalagwala FM’s presenter, Buhle Ndlovu.

Ndlovu appeared at the Barberton Magistrate’s Court for excessive speeding on Tuesday where she was fined  R3000.00  or 18 months imprisonment which is suspended for three years on condition that the accused is not convicted of the same offence.

Another driver, Wesley Ceroueira, a Mozambican national was driving 144 km per hour on a 100 km per hour zone on the same road while travelling with children.  He appeared at the same court on Wednesday and was fined  R10 000.00 or 18 months imprisonment which was suspended for three years on condition that he is not convicted of the same offence

MEC Gabisile Shabalala has called on the private sector, civil society, and the broader community to collectively work with government in educating young people about the dangers of not obeying road rules particularly excessive speeding.
