Murder suspects released on bail
This morning the residents, including elders, marched to the court carrying placards on which were written their strong opposition to the bail.

Angry residents of Esperado village outside Barberton marched to the Low’s Creek Periodical Court today to oppose the bail application from two young men who stand accused of the murder of 84-year-old Jeremiah Ginindza-Nkosi, famously known as Mkhulu Cabuza.

“We were so disappointed by the court outcome, as we were not expecting it to give them bail, and only three days after Nkosi’s funeral” said Pastor Lucky Mhlongo. Nkosi’s decomposing body was found tied in his RDP house on August 13. Blood stains were also found on his bed.

The two accused men, Menzi Nkosi (21) and Blessing Mbenyane (22) were released on R1 000 bail each. They are expected to appear again in court on September 19.
Const Fikile Lubisi, spokesman of Low’s Creek police, warned the community not to take the law in their own hands. Police investigations still continue into the matter.
