Mpumalanga actor makes his name in the industry
Ndlovu and other well-known actors are planning an acting tour and workshop in the province in September. This will provide the youth with a great opportunity to meet actors and learn ways of getting into the industry.

Sipho Eric Ndlovu of Rietspruit near eMalahleni is one of the province’s actors flying its flag in the entertainment industry.
Ndlovu holds a bachelor of arts degree in communications from the University of Limpopo, Turfloop Campus.
When growing up, he used to frequent Mbombela while visiting his grandparents on his father’s side in Manyeveni Village outside KaBokweni.
He left the province in 2016 in search of greener pastures in Johannesburg. His breakthrough came when he landed himself an acting role in a four-episode series, Side Dish Dilemma, on SABC 1, playing the character of Zolile.

“Since then I started to book roles on different shows such as the Liberty Danish series, which was my first international shoot with a Danish production,” he said.
Ndlovu has since graced local and international television screens on a number of soapies, including Isibaya, The Queen, Uzalo, Omen, Isipho, Muvhango and DiepCity.
He is set to leave his fans in stitches of laughter and tears in an upcoming feature film, Bogoshi Baka, that won two international awards at the Crownwood International Festival Awards in Kolkata, India. Like many actors, Ndlovu was not spared the effects of the outbreak of Covid-19.
“This affected me badly, as productions were not allowed to shoot, but I managed to cope through my savings. My advice to actors in this industry is that it is very important to save, as nothing is guaranteed,” he emphasised.

Ndlovu urged schoolgoing learners who wish to follow a career in acting, to take subjects like history and geography, which are needed for university admissions.
“I believe those subjects can prepare them better. Being able to analyse essays will enable you to understand the script and the storyline,” he said. “But mostly, to make it in the acting industry, it is very important to get legit talent agents, which can be found under the Personal Managers Association,” he said.
