Meet Miss KaBokweni Plaza 2022

She believes that one day she will be seen on the big pageant stages like Miss South Africa.

Miss KaBokweni Plaza 2022 was recently crowned. The young and stunning Celesta Mhoni was announced as the new reigning queen on Friday April 29.

With a stage set outside, Mhoni did her “Naomi Campbell walk” with her unique touch, and nabbed the crown.

“It feels great to be Miss KaBokweni Plaza. It is my first time winning a title and I even cried because I could not believe it. I thought I was dreaming.”

The Grade 10 learner said she entered the local beauty pageant to encourage young girls like her to not be afraid to showcase their natural beauty. “Girls should feel comfortable in their bodies and never try to become someone else, but always fight to better themselves.”
She advocates giving to the less privileged in her community in Khumbula, which is her way of showing love.

“I ask around for donations like extra food and clothes that households no longer need. With my team, the Black Child Organisation, we gather all the things that we get, divide it and give to the less privileged. I really love helping those in need so I show my love by doing charity work,” she said.
Mhoni said she would like to encourage her peers to live life to the fullest and start building for the future from an early age.

“Focus on your schoolwork. Life is not only about iPhones and wearing expensive clothes. I want to teach them to be grateful for what they have and to set active goals for their future.”

“It is my dream to represent my province. I have done auditions for Miss Teen Mbombela and I know my dreams will succeed. I will reach Miss Mpumalanga, then Miss South Africa and maybe Miss Universe. I am working on my dreams,” she concluded.
